Highlight of 2013: Violinist Hilary Hahn Performs "Tick" at Walt Disney Concert Hall.

Happy New Year!

Starting 2014 off right with an awesome scoring gig that i can't wait to spill the beans about and Stolen Babies is heading out on a North American winter tour in just a couple weeks.

As 2013 comes to an end i've reflected on how many blessed moments i've had, both personally and professionally, but above all there is one event that sticks out and will always be a high point and defining moment in my life.

It was when world renowned violin virtuoso Hilary Hahn world premiered my piece "Tick" as her encore at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles on May 7, 2013. Hilary awarded my piece an honorable mention and runner up for her worldwide encore contest "In 27 Pieces: The Hilary Hahn Encores."

Hearing Hilary and her pianist, Cory Smythe, rip through "Tick" was one of the most thrilling moments of my life to say the least. The performance was flawless and it sounded exactly like i had heard it in my head when i was writing it! Here is the Los Angeles Times review of the recital ending with a nice note about my piece.
